Hey! I’m Mariah Herself…

The way our inner and outer worlds connect fascinates me.   I explore this idea in my work, intrigued by how we think about, express, and find meaning in both the mysterious and the ordinary.

Here you will find me offering services for feng shui, astrology, and a couple other niche topics. Studying these traditions are basically what I spend my time with, so I do a lot of reading, writing, spending time in nature, and painting. I don’t consider myself an expert or a master, rather I’d say something like lifelong student, artist, compassionate traveler and mystery seeker. I’m here not to indoctrinate you into anything, but to share my passion and learning and hope it inspires you on your journey.

Credentials and Influences…

As for credentials, I have two black cats and a lot of books, so that might be the only credentials I need? Haha, just kidding, I have other credentials. And in case you’re wondering, my esoteric studies began with a chance encounter with a book back in 2017.

For Feng Shui, my knowledge is rooted namely in a certificate from Mindful Design Feng Shui School, an accredited IFSG (International Feng Shui Guild) program. The teachings I learned are from the lineage of Black Sect Feng Shui, communicated to a western audience by Professor Lin Yun, and date back to the indigenous Tibetan Bon Tradition. I have been self learning the Compass style of feng shui independently. As a western practitioner, it is my aim to respectfully appreciate, communicate, and honor this practice as I translate it from my unique viewpoint for my community.

For Numerology, Astrology, and Ki-ology, I am largely self taught. My Numerology knowledge is primarily rooted in the teachings of Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker. My Western Astrology knowledge consists of a passionate collection of ongoing study, influenced by modern and traditional astrology practices and the work of Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, Diana Sabau, Benebell Wen, Jan Spiller, Demetra George, and others. As I consider myself a young astrologer, my scope of service is limited to general chart interpretation of psychological/ personality/ career/ relationship/ life purpose/ karmic/ self growth implications. I can offer transit insight and thoughtfully take you into the symbolism and structure of your natal chart, illuminating the stories of planets and points of interest. Should you need specific and focused timing techniques, chart rectification, or an electional chart, I advise you to seek out another astrologer at this time. My primary influences for Ki-ology are from my feng shui training, the writing of Takashi Yoshikawa, and reading the I Ching.

Not a credential, but an unexpected and notable influence is my personal art practice, namely painting with watercolor and acrylic. I had a wonderful and skillful art mentor, now passed, Skip Lawrence.  He was deeply informative in the evolution of my art practice, and his influence in my life is something I’d like to credit. At our first session, he told me he had no interest in teaching me how he paints - he was much more interested in helping me uncover how I paint.  This sentiment is something I carry with me into my approach, as well as the transformative experience of the creative process.

What I’m Doing Here…

I am most interested in encouraging you to observe, uncover, and connect deeply with yourself - finding alternative perspectives and reflections that expand and develop how you see yourself and the world. That is something these practices have offered me, and my hope is to foster an environment of exchange for you to encounter your own inspiration and magic. I share my advice, knowledge, and observations, which you are free to take or leave. While all gets filtered through my creative and intuitive instinct, I strive to abide by a high standard of professionalism and ethics.

And for those curious about my natal astrology…

I use the principles and wisdom traditions of Feng Shui to analyze and improve the feeling of a space. Architecture, style, furniture, and functionality all come together into a story. By interpreting the story of our living and working spaces, we can make positive changes to our environments. It is not about having perfect interior design, but supporting ourselves by cultivating nourishing spaces. Empowered with this knowledge, we work collaboratively to uncover insights and create personalized solutions.
